All around us, there is uncertainty, fear, unrest, anxiety and much more. It is very easy to become overwhelmed. So, where do we turn? What can we do? How do we overcome fear?
God doesn’t want us to live in fear. “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. His word tells us how to deal with fear and anxiety. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4:6-7.
Friend, do you want to experience His amazing and unconditional love that conquers your fear? Here are two concepts to help you understand and make the most important decision of your life;
Recognize why you have fear
Fear comes from a lack of trust in God. Our fear is a direct result of our sin and separation from God. More important than the fear we face in these times, is that our sin separates us from the God of perfect peace. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23.
Realize God’s Love for You
Embracing God’s love is the only way to overcome fear and sin. “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. Jesus died to pay our sin debt.
To embrace Gods love
accept Jesus Christ alone as your savior. You can claim God’s promise for Salvation right now. “… if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. Romans 10:9. Pray this simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. I receive your peace and unending love. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
